Last fall Gaby contacted me about photographing her for her senior portraits. Not long after, she, her parents, and I got together for a consult, including discussing possible locations.
After we met, I made a road trip to Ames to scope out a variety of locations for the time of day we'd be photographing (since sun location can make a difference). I then messaged some images of various Ames locations to Gaby and her parents for them to decide on their favorites. We were all so intrigued with the graffiti that we settled on Brookside Park in Ames, and possibly downtown. We had so much fun and had so many different options at the park that we didn't go elsewhere. (We did, however, have a second session in the studio, which was the plan all along.)
Because her parents had work and other commitments, Gaby's sister, her cousin, and an aunt came along to assist with the experience. (I always ask clients to bring an extra person to assist, if possible.)
It was a little tricky photographing in the area of the graffiti because there was quite a slope where I was standing. But I had a step ladder and the wonderful assistants made sure I didn't topple down the hill when standing on it!
Gaby's two sessions (park and studio) included so many types of images ... from grunge to sophisticated and dressy. (One clothing change was a beautiful black dress.) We love them all ... more another time re: what her family did with them. Oh, the suspense!
We have received your message and will contact you shortly
