Meet Peg, my next-older sister. I call her a variation of that name, but most of her world knows her as "Peg."

What I really wanted to title this post is, "There She Is ... Miss A-merrr-ica!” For longer than a half century we've had so much fun together - and shared serious moments, too. Plus she's so incredibly giving and beautiful in so many ways that when I see her, especially after a long absence, Bert Parks' "Miss America" song often comes to my goofy mind.

A prime example of our relationship is from when I offered a headshot session to be auctioned for the local junior class prom fundraiser. Peg thought it was a good cause plus she also wanted to support me. She bid and she won the session.

She lives a few states away. Usually when she returns to Iowa she's got a million things she wants to pack into her trips. But she made time for me and her headshot session.

We had a blast, not to mention a playlist with a lot of Bob Dylan songs including "Like a Rolling Stone," "Subterranean Homesick Blues," and "You Angel You."

Peg's husband - what an amazing guy - was a huge Bob Dylan fan. His music collection included hundreds of Bob Dylan CDs! Peg has carried that torch since her husband's passing, including during her photo session. (I'm a firm believer that great music can enhance any photo session.)

We had so much fun during her session including selecting her favorites. She'd ask for my advice on a couple when comparing. I'd say things like, "Well, this one says 'High-School Peg' to me whereas this other one says 'I-want-to-help-you-out-if-I-can Peg.'" And then we'd start talking about "High-School Peg" and "Junior-High Louise" and ... well, you can imagine how much fun we had.

Peg also has a degree in English. She doesn't correct my punctuation or grammar unless I ask her for help, or she sees something I've posted that would mortify me if I didn't get it fixed. But I imagine there are some errors to notice in this blog post!

Thank you for indulging both Peg and me by reading this post. Every session is fun but this one was a ton of sisterly fun. And of course, that's a whole different ball game! : )

BTW, she's older than I. But I'm the one who needed and got a little retouch face-lift on this selfie so I could inch toward looking as young as she does!
